With so many photos this month, I thought it best to split things up. In addition to birding at the Jersey Shore, this month we joined the Early Morning Birders program at Minnewaska State Park yet again for a long morning of seeing some Warblers, Towhees and more prior to the park opening. It was great getting shots of the Hooded Warbler finally!
I got a new lifer with a Rose Breasted Grosbeak hiding out in a tree out front and also welcoming some baby Eastern-Wood Peewee’s nesting under our deck.

And in a total surprise, I was taking photos of the Pewee and when I went to edit the photos, I realized it had a Praying Mantis in his mouth ready to feed the chicks!
