Birding: February 2026

February was a wild month, it went from zero activity to all the activity. We went looking for Short-Eared Owls again this month, and while we didn’t have luck finding them I finally added a new lifer to the list: an American Kestrel!

The month was filled with season favorites but we started to see new faces coming back around: American Robins, Eastern Bluebirds, and even a juvenile Bald Eagle sitting in my neighbor’s tree! Quite the variety in this month’s post.
